2007 Public Review and Comment

At its meeting on August 15, 2007, the Kansas Energy Council (KEC) approved several draft policy recommendations for release to the public for review and comment. From September 10 through October 19, KEC staff received written public comment on the draft recommendations and comments were also presented at the public hearing on October 10, 2007. The Council met on November 16, 2007, and on December 5, 2007, to discuss and vote on final drafts for inclusion in the 2008 Kansas Energy Plan.

Wednesday, September 26, 2007, 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
KEC staff discussed the 2007 draft recommendations during two public forums (10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.) at the Kansas Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Conference, Ramada Inn, Topeka.

Wednesday, October 10, 2007, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The KEC held Public Hearings on draft policy recommendations at the old Kansas Supreme Court Hearing Room, Room 313-S, Statehouse, Topeka.

2006 Public Review and Comment

At its meeting on August 30, 2006, the Kansas Energy Council approved several draft policy recommendations for release to the public for review and comment. From September 15 though October 31, KEC staff received written comments on the draft recommendations and comments were also presented at the public hearing on October 13, 2006. The Council met on November 15, 2006, to discuss and vote on final drafts for inclusion in the 2007 Kansas Energy Plan.

KEC staff held forums on 2006 planning priorities at the Kansas Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Conference, Ramada Inn, Topeka.

10:30 – 12:00: RPS and Development of Wind Energy
1:30 – 3:00: Energy Efficiency and Conservation
3:30 – 5:00: Transportation Energy Efficiency

Friday, October 13, 2006, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The KEC held public hearings on draft policy recommendations at the old Kansas Supreme Court Hearing Room, Room 313-S, Statehouse, Topeka. Notes on the public hearing are now available.

Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 7:00 p.m.
KEC Director Liz Brosius answered questions and heard comments about the draft policy recommendations at open meeting at Lawrence Public Library.
